WebNotePad

Your PSP Webnotepad is a handy little tool to put in notes to yourself. Use it for daily reminders, appointments, to do lists, telephone numbers or just about anything that you need to make sure that you remember. "pick up the kids at 4pm", "pay the internet bill", "call Bill Gates at 1-(800) 275-RICH about job interview" are great examples of what your PSP Webnotepad can be used for. To use it simply type in your notes and click on the "save notepad" button. You can also make changes to your PSP Webnotepad on the edit screen of your PSP.

To activate the Webnotepad feature on your PSP you must edited your PSP through the edit screen at least one time. The process of going to your edit screen creates the files on the server where all your information is stored. This is only necessary the very first time you access your NEW PSP. If you first try to add to the Webnotepad before going to the edit screen it will not save what you typed.

Favorite Links

This is the meat of the PSP. The ability to bring together all of your favorite websites to visit into one easy to access and maintain web page is why the PSP Network is growing so fast. Your PSP links are much easier to use than trying to maintain the confusing bookmark system of your browser. You can set up a total of 30 of your favorite links and email addresses to appear on your PSP. We have also built up a long list of suggested links that you might consider adding to your PSP. All you have to do to add a suggested link is click on the box next to the website and it will appear on your PSP.

Your links appear in the same order as they are entered followed by the links that you checked off in the suggested links section of your edit screen. Always keep your most frequented links on the top of the list. Also try to keep your links names short so that they don't take up more then one line on the display of your PSP. On the links themselves they can be to (http://) websites, (ftp://) ftp download sites or (gopher://) gopher sites. Make sure you select the correct preface to the destination you want. The mailto:// option is for entering your email address for the PSP Emailer. Below is the correct format for a link to a website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customize the backgrounds, add my own graphics, and add other assorted goodies to my PSP?
No. You can only change your PSP by filling in the boxes that are included on the edit screen. This includes adding your personal links to websites, adding email addresses and filling in the webnotepad. You may notice different page layouts come up as we have a rotating system to keep things a little fresher.

Can I change my url, username or password?
No, but you can, if you must, create a new PSP and disregard the old one.

How do I get you to delete my unwanted PSP?
We periodically delete all PSP's that have not had any activity (viewed or edited) within the prior 60 days. We do not delete PSP's by request as the only way a PSP is deleted is through this standard periodic deletion process.

I lost my url, what do I do?
Your url is http://www.rockmall.com/cgi-bin/psp.pl?username where you substitute YOUR USERNAME in that address.

I lost my password, what do I do?
Your password can be retrieved by using the password link on your page or going to http://www.rockmall.com/cgi-bin/psppass.pl. You will enter in your username and your password will be emailed directly to the current email address that is on file for you. This protects everyone from others getting your password.

I get an error message that says that I must be registered - what does this mean?
This means that you have entered in an incorrect password in the edit page. Your username and password is case sensitive so if you don't use correct capitalization then you wont be able to edit or pull up your PSP.

Can I advertise my PSP to the world to see and use?
Yes, but the intended purpose of the PSP is for your PERSONAL USE. It was designed so YOU have a great launching off point for your web journeys. The webnotepad is not password protected so anyone at your page can write on your webnotepad. They can not change anything else unless you gave them your password.

Does this service cost anything?
No. We (as of 9/1/97) have over 50,000 people registered and using the PSP system. We do not offer extended customer support or custom features with the PSP System as it would make the system too expensive for us maintain.

What if I need some help?
If after reading all possible online documentation you still can't figure out the system then please contact your Internet Service Provider or a computer savvy friend or neighbor as they are usually very willing to help. If they can't solve the problem then you can email us using our PSP HELP REQUEST FORM. with all pertinent information and we will try to get back to you in a timely manner.

GOLDEN RULE: IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PSP -- JUST CREATE A NEW ONE AS IT IS EASIER AND LESS TIME CONSUMING FOR ALL CONCERNED TO CREATE A NEW ONE THEN TO TRY TO FIX AN OLD ONE.
